I am glad you’re here and thank you for fighting the fires. You are so heroic risking your life for others and saving homes and pets. Where would the world be with out you. By the way my name is Amy and I have a horse and I don’t know if she’s ok. Any way all the best and thanks again. You’re so brave and helpful. From Amy.

I would just like to send my heartfelt thanks to all the volunteer fire Brigade and the other Firies who travelled from interstate to assist.

How you kept on going I will never understand. The pressure and heat and fear must be over whelming however you all seem so.....I dont know to just get on with it.

Power to you for your generosity, your courage in the face of what most of us would flee in terror, and your capacity and determination to keep Victoria a place where we can all live in safety. Ancient writers made great sagas, songs and ballads about the heroes of their times and that is what fire fighters in Victoria deserve! You are the contemporary heroes, fighting the devils and dragons of our times. What we need to do now is make sure that everyone ragnises the problem, what we can do about them in the immediate short term, and in the longer term we all need to learn to live, consuming less power and less stuff!
